Plans for World Green Building Week 2024

World Green Building Week 2024

9 – 13 Sept 2024

World Green Building Week (WGBW) is the world’s largest campaign to accelerate sustainable built environments across the globe.

Organised by World Green Building Council (WorldGBC), it is led by our global network of over 75 Green Building Councils and their 46 000 members.

Reduce. Decarbonise. Adapt.

This year’s theme of #BuildingTheTransition calls on the building and construction sector to accelerate the transition to secure an energy efficient, regenerative and just future for all.

How to get involved

Join our events

We have events planned in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, and invite all of our green building community to join. Spaces are limited, and GBCSA members get priority, so do RSVP today to secure your spot!

  • In Gauteng, we have a Planet Shapers Panel Discussion, “The Hard Work Behind Easy Breathing, which will explore the latest in IEQ. More details here.
  • In KZN, we have a building tour of Aurum Zimbali Lakes. More details here.

And in Cape Town, we’re opening our office for a GBConnect get together. More details here.

Advocate, and share your actions

Online, you can be part of the global groundswell and share your message in your own circle of influence.

  • Discuss these topics with your colleagues and involve your supply chain. By doing so, you become a green building ambassador, helping to spread the message throughout your industry.
  • Use social media, interviews, and other platforms to share the steps you’re taking and inspire others. Inspire others by showcasing your commitment to sustainability. Please tag us on social media and use the hashtags: #WGBW2024, #BuildingTheTransition

Let’s make World Green Building Week 2024 a catalyst for change.

Join us in taking concrete actions to create a greener, more sustainable built environment!
