Regenerative SPACE Solutions and Regenerative SPACE NPC work together as a social-environmental enterprise, clearing the fynbos landscape of invasive alien species, and converting the resulting biomass into a variety of products for sale. The revenue generated pays for the work, ensuring that the positive environmental result is meaningful and at scale, and that long-term employment, at decent wages, is available for members of the local community in an area with an unemployment crisis. Many have only ever been seasonally employed.

Our primary output is from our Napier Sawmill where we can produce bespoke milled timber (planks, beams, pallets, crates, cladding etc.) and a variety of gardening and landscape items (furniture, chips, bark, pavers, planters etc.).

The saws allow us currently to produce from 20mm x 20mm to 400mm x 400mm, and almost all variations in between, up to a current maximum length of 3.6 meters.

As we do not have to buy our raw material in, since it's a byproduct of clearing alien vegetation, our timber prices are very competitive.

We welcome unusual requests and ideas. Jan, the MD, is also a well-known functional artist and designer in his spare time for well over 20 years, and our technical manager, Charlie, is highly skilled in steelwork. Together with our enthusiastic and competent depot assistants, we can innovate and solve with the best of them. Creative director, Alison, has years of experiencing fabricating weird and wonderful props and sets in the film and television industry so no request is unusual.

We are completing a drying facility, heated by our milling waste and via the sun (low carbon processes), which will also allow us to do ISPM-15 treatment in time. Our PEFC certification will soon be finalized, reassuring any client of the chain-of-custody and our sustainable working practices.

Currently we only cut and mill timber (planks, cladding and beams) to order but will be building up stock gradually. Shou Sugi Ban is possible, with planing, borax treatment and laminated beams in the near future.

Our production is certified with PEFC (The international Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) under certificate number SA-PEFC-FM-01406. The PEFC is a leading global alliance of national forest certification systems promoting sustainable forest management through independent third-party certification.
