Education and Training Manager

Donné joined the GBCSA in January 2011. She is a registered professional architect and newly qualified permaculturist with valuable experience in the design and production of a more sustainable built environment. She graduated with a Bachelor of Building Arts from UPE, now NMMU in 1998. She then spent several years working in the UK and traveling Europe and North Africa.

In 2002, she was accepted into the Bachelor of Architecture Program at the University of Cape Town and graduated in 2005 with a distinction in design. She has since developed an in-depth knowledge of sustainability practices and an active interest in the role of mapping, education and participative approaches to the production of context appropriate ecological design. She has worked alongside some of Cape Town's most forward thinking sustainability consultants and built environment professionals including architect Anna Cowen.and Vernon Collis, an architect and engineer. Her interest in innovative education and training methodologies and participatory processes developed whilst working with Meshfield, a Cape Town based consultancy.

She is tasked with growing GBCSA's educational offerings as well as supporting the continued roll out of the existing Green Star SA Accredited Professionals course. In her spare time, she practises yoga, surfs and tends her small urban garden.
